Europe By Satellite

The European Union’s TV Information service Europe by Satellite (EbS) was launched in 1995 and provides TV and radio stations with EU related pictures and sound in more than 21 languages.
The programming consists of a mix of live events, stock shots and finished programmes on EU subjects produced by various EU Institutions and Directorates as well as other broadcasters.

EbS offers:

inter-institutional content, coming from the European Commission , the European Parliament , the Council Of The European Union , the European Central Bank and other institutions.

---An Inter-institutional Editorial Committee sets the priorities for the coverage of news events and coordinates common operations;

live coverage of events, press conferences, briefings, EP plenary sessions, ceremonies;

stockshots, Video News Release and programmes produced by EC services and other EU institutions;

the material on EbS may freely be used by media professionals with a few restrictions, these are given here .

teletext service carrying EP programme information;

EbS

on line streaming of EbS on the internet, low resolution, live and on demand (up to 7 days), and in more than 21 languages – an unique service on the worldwide web;

on line broadcast quality TV and radio files (MP3 audio and MPEG2 video broadcast quality - same quality as EbS on satelllite), available for download on internet, allowing the EU to reach broadcasters anywhere in the world;
