''Entertainment Software Association v. Foti'' is a lawsuit brought by the Entertainment Software Association in June 2006 to have Louisiana law HB1381 struck down as unconstitutional. Judge James Brady issued a Preliminary Injuction on 2006-08-24 1. Jack Thompson , author of HB1381, filed an Amicus Curiae brief. It was rejected. The law was Permanently Enjoined in late November 2006 . In his ruling, Judge Brady stated that he was dumbfounded that the law even passed given that similar laws were struck down in other states and those same states were forced to pay the legal fees of the plaintiffs.
