A common approach is Shock Absorber s which attempt to absorb the Energy when the device hits the ground. An alternate approach is a Helicopter shaped devices that attempt to slow the device by converting Falling Energy into Rotational Energy thus dissipating the energy before the device hits. Another variation is to try to make a container that will keep the egg from breaking when it is dropped into the container. This competition depends on the height the egg was dropped from and the height of the container that is being used to catch the egg. Commonly used materials are Sand , Peanut Butter , and Styrofoam . |
