Information About

Education Foundation

PROGRAMS

The Education Foundation runs five major programs to contribute to public education in Australia:

  • The City Centre: a school centre in Melbourne that offers Year 9 and 10 students' weekly, independent intensive learning programs.

  • Back To School Day: a national campaign that brings former students back to public schools as role models for today’s young people

  • ruMAD? Are You Making A Difference? Encourages students to be young philanthropists and active, caring community participants by freely offering a framework for values based curriculum to all schools.

  • Opportunity Scholarships: helps talented, disadvantaged young people achieve their dreams.

RESEARCH

The Education Foundation also commissions research on education and social policy in Australia, particularly as it relates to issues of equity and excellence among Australian students. The objectives are to stimulate new thinking, commitment and involvement in public education and engage and inspire kids in public schools during the compulsory years that are at risk of dropping out or disengaging from learning.
