Education And Youth Corps Israel




The Israel i Education and Youth Corps (, ''Heyl HaHinuh VeHaNo'ar'') is the IDF Human Resources Directorate corps responsible for the education of soldiers and commanders in Israel's military. It is designed to instruct and develop national values among the troops.


YOUTH EDUCATION TRAINING BASE

The Youth Education Training Base, or by its name ''Sha'arei Avraham'' (Abraham's gates) was built near the Re'em Junction in the Lachish Valley near Kiryat Mal'akhi .

Many of the soldiers in varies roles in the Education Corps get their training in the Youth Education Training Base.

among these roles:
#Mash"akit Ho"d עברית: מש"קית הו"ד- (commander that is not an officer for teaching and command)
#Mada"n Merhav and Basis עברית: מד"ן מרחב ובסיס-(a youth guide in the base and region)
#Mash"akit Hinuh עברית: מש""קית חינוך- (commander that is not an officer for education)
#Mash"akit Aliya עברית: מש"קית עלייה- (commander that is not an officer for immigration)
#Military ensemble
#Museum guides.

  • The teacher-soldiers who are also a part of the Education Corps don't get their training in the Youth Education Training Base, but in a civic seminary called "ramot shapira" which is in Moshav (cooperative settlement) beit meir, next to Jerusalem. this is a result of the "lending agreement" with the Education Ministers if Israel.

The logo for the Education and Youth Corps is composed of four stripes integrating into one flame.
three of them (different shades of blue) represents the three different centers of the corps and the forth (colored white) represents the headquarters of the corps.
the new logo shows the power of the corps as an independent corps not subjugated to other centers in other corps.


MAIN OFFICERS OF THE CORPS



BASES

Mikve Alon - for new immigrants not proficient in the Hebrew language. In this base the commanders are immigration/ Aliyah specialists (singular: ''Mashakit aliya'') and immigration officers.

Havat HaShomer - for soldiers with adaptation problems (which may or may not include deficiencies in education).


The corps also runs three Gadna bases. These bases offer a week-long experience for teens aged 16-17. Schools from all over Israel send their 11th and 12th graders for a week of Boot Camp experience. In this week the teens experience military discipline, arms lessons, weapon use, physical exercises and more.
