The Dixie Chicken, also known as '''The Chicken''', is a bar located in Northgate , College Station , Texas . It claims to serve the most beer per square foot of any bar in the United States .1 The Dixie Chicken was named "College Bar of the Month" in '' Playboy '' magazine and one of the "Top 20 Dive Bars in America" by '' Stuff '' magazine in 2002. The bar is famous in College Station for its Back Porch and for being a good place to play 42 , a popular version of Dominoes in Texas. You can play pool and take in the old signs and mounts hanging on the walls. The last song played is " Goodnight Irene " every night at closing time.
