The Dixie Brewing Company is a Craft Brewery located in New Orleans, Louisiana . Dixie Brewing was founded and began production in 1907 and is the only remaining large volume brewery within the city of New Orleans {Link without Title} , a city that once was home to several major breweries (most notably, Falstaff ). Of course, several microbreweries and brewpubs exist in the city, and the popular Abita Brewing Company is located nearby. The brewery's production line was severely damaged by the flooding from Hurricane Katrina and the brewery remains off line as of May 2007. However, owners Joe and Kendra Bruno are in the process of reparing and renovating the damaged historic brewery and hope to have it operating again by the end of 2007. {Link without Title} In the mean time, they have authorized several other breweries throughout the USA to produce Dixie branded beer in limited quantities.
