Diamond Creek is a Railway Station in Melbourne , Victoria , Australia , located in the suburb of Diamond Creek , on the Hurstbridge Railway Line . It is in Metcard Zone 2. Diamond Creek is unofficially a Host Station , due to Connex staff having to work the safeworking equipment. LOCATION The station is located at the northern end of the Hurstbridge Road level crossing. Shops are located near the station. FACILITIES The station consists of two side platforms. Platform 1 contains a large weatherboard building, while platform 2 contains a small shelter. A large Metcard machine is located at the entrance to platform 1, which is able to dispense most ticketing options available and also accept notes and coins. (most trains depart platform 1 so there is nothing on platform 2.)There are toilets on platform 1 (which are mostly closed) and a pay phone on the southern end of platform 1. Both platforms can be accessed via Hurstbridge Road. HISTORY Diamond Creek station opened on Tuesday, 25th June 1912 .
