Curtis Arnold




Arnold graduated from Ouachita Baptist University in 1992 after being awarded one of Arkansas Governor Bill Clinton 's Governor Scholarships. He pursued graduate studies in business at the University Of Texas At Dallas .

Arkansas Business, a weekly journal, selected Arnold as a "Top 40 under 40" business leader in 2005. According to Arkansas Business, this award recognizes intriguing business and political leaders who bear watching.

Arnold was selected as a National Council Of La Raza (NCLR) panelist in 2006 to discuss Hispanic credit card issues. The Non-profit Organization held its 2006 convention in Los Angeles .

Arnold was also invited to be a guest speaker at The 2007 Responsible Credit Roundtable . Originally founded five years ago as the Responsible Credit Partnership with support from The Saint Paul Foundation, the non-profit roundtable provides a forum for credit card industry and non-profit stakeholders to devise, test and implement ways to improve communication and account practices to build value for both companies and customers.

Arnold has a particular passion for educating students about credit. He serves on the Advisory Board for The Center for Consumer Financial Services at Rochester Institute Of Technology (RIT), which provides national leadership and research related to student credit issues. He also regularly speaks on college campuses about credit issues. Finally, he currently serves as co-chair of the Arkansas chapter of the Jump Coalition for Financial Literacy , which seeks to educate students about personal finance issues. Former Governor and 2008 Presidential Candidate Mike Huckabee , with Arnold in attendance, signed a proclamation in 2006 stating that April was the "Financial Literacy for Youth" month.

Arnold participates in other consumer advocacy groups with various missions. For example, he contributes on a weekly basis to CreditBloggers, a blog where leading financial experts discuss credit, loan, debt and identity theft topics. Curtis also is a member of Arkansans Against Abusive Payday Lending, a coalition of Arkansans dedicated to combating abusive payday lending practices. Finally, Curtis is a member of the Financial Literacy Education Consortium (FLEC), a community of professionals concerned with "best practices" for the delivery of financial education to their constituents.

Arnold serves on the board of the Arkansas Festival Ballet . He is also a member of Toastmasters International and obtained Competent Toastmaster Status.

Arnold was recently selected by Prentice Hall publishing company to author a book on credit cards. Prentice Hall is the world's leading educational and professional book publishing company.

Curtis was born in Klamath Falls, Oregon and was raised in DeValls Bluff, Arkansas. He currently resides in North Little Rock with his wife and 5 children.
