The Cricket tournament at the 2005 Maccabiah Games started on July 10 . Cricket had not been an event at the Maccabiah since the 1997 Maccabiah , and for the first time was played both as a senior tournament as well as a youth (under-18) tournament. ICC CEO , Malcolm Speed , paid a special visit to Israel to watch the games. The senior tournament was won by South Africa .
