Information About

Conway And Whitman

HISTORY

Conway and Whitman joined forces in 2005 when KLSX Program Director Jack Silver did not renew the contract of Tim's then radio partner, Doug Steckler , in favor of the comedic styles of Brian Whitman. "Conway and Whitman" became one of several moves by 97.1 Free FM to prepare for the departure of morning-show keystone Howard Stern , who moved his show to Sirius Satellite Radio in January 2006.

THE SHOW

Listeners can call in to the show and discuss whatever topic is being currently discussed. Usually the topic comes from a notable news story or current event, to which Conway and Whitman will pose a question for the audience to call in and discuss. The pair allows people to share their thoughts on the topic of the evening, but have been known to 'cut short' a caller with a simple "Thanks a lot." and moving to the next caller, mostly for comedic effect. As well as trying to mimic the older Howard Stern Show type of effects. Another 'gag' is for Brian Whitman to simply begin 'snoring' if he becomes bored with what the caller is saying. During Fridays, the first hour consist of "Make Tom Leykis Laugh" where callers try to give funny jokes on air. Whitman either impersonates the Tom Leykis laugh if the joke is funny, or "Blows Up" the caller like Tom Leykis.

HOSTS

Tim Conway Jr.

Tim Conway Jr. is the son of television and movie comedian Tim Conway . He is married to his wife Jennifer and has one daughter, Sophia. He is the more conservative-minded of the duo, and has been known to berate callers who do not read ahead on current events, or have wildly liberal views, and just dislikes anyone who does not think like he does. He has vehemently disagreed with his co-host on certain subjects because of personal insecurities. Basically just wanting to be accepted because of lack of talent. The two have agreed not to discuss politics or global warming on the show as these subjects almost always become a heated argument. He also enjoys betting on racehorses. He hosts a radio show on the weekends called "Mortgage Matters" with Dave Hardin of Covenant Mortgage in which they discuss the current real estate market and interest rates. Tim Conway Jr. is a poorman's version of Michael Savage of The Michael Savage show. Also it should be noted that Tim Conway Jr. has ride the coat tails of his father's sucess; Comedian Tim Conway.

Brian Whitman

Brian Whitman specializes in voice impersonations of many celebrities, including Jay Leno , Louie Anderson , Tom Leykis , Rick Dees , George W. Bush , Jack Nicholson , psychic Kenny Kingston , Don Imus , co-host Tim Conway Jr., and many others. A favorite of Whitman's and the listening audience is Brian's impression of radio personality Tom Leykis, whose show precedes ''The Conway and Whitman Show''. Although, Tom Leykis does not find the impersonation funny and has even stated it in the past when introducing Conway and Whitman. Brian Whitman has admitted on-air that he struggles with depression, and often makes light of his condition during radio broadcasts. He has admitted in the past as hiring an escort to have sex with and passing out from pills he had taken right after. He also has a large collection of mugs and is always looking for mugs of old TV shows and political campaigns. As of 9:00 June 6, 2007 Brian Whitman closes the impression factory. However, later in the week, due to low ratings and an urge to do impression, he dis-obeyed the general manager's restriction and continued doing impressions.
