Connecticut Public Television (CPTV) is a statewide public television network, providing PBS programming in Connecticut .

As Of 2007 , the CPTV stations are:

The network previously operated a Waterbury translator, W12BH (channel 12), but that station was taken off the air to allow WTXX to begin digital television operations.

WEDY in New Haven has been off the air since September of 2005 due to an equipment failure and will shut down its analog signal in order to allow available funds to be spent on the construction of its digital facilities.


SERVICES

All CPTV stations carry the same programming. The digital signal offers the main network, plus CPTV2 and CPTV Kids. CPTV2 merely rebroadcasts the Create lifestyle/human interest channel. CPTV Kids, as can be implied by the title, broadcasts mainly children's programming. In addition, CPTV operates an HD channel. CPTV2 and CPTV Kids are mainly carried on cable TV, and also in some areas by DTT .


SHOWS PRODUCED BY CPTV

CPTV is the presenting station of two popular PBS childrens series, '' Barney & Friends '' and '' Thomas & Friends ''.
