Christian Andersson (born 1973 in Stockholm ) is a Conceptual Artist from Sweden , working mainly with Installations . He is best known for the pieces "Soft Drink Stand" (2001) and "F for Fake" (2002). Christian Andersson's works manifest a high degree of sophistication. On the surface level we are confronted with an expansive and often strikingly elegant way of execution, where sculptural and installatory elements converge in order to create an aesthetic environment that is as thought provoking as it is seductive in its visual finish. His mastery in integrating light and shadows, as well as surfaces of different qualities (mute, transparent, reflective, fluorescent) often serves in highlighting a theme that has been central through out art history, namely the unstable and transitory nature of perception. In a way that reminds us of the late author Philip K Dick , Christian Andersson seems to show us that the very imperfection of our human mental faculties is a way to generate a more thorough understanding of our existence.
