Information About

Child And Parent Resource Institute

Prior to 1996, there was a Summer Camp program for children with Autism and other developmental disabilities which ran from July to late August, that was based around the Madeline Hardy School , where structured activities were started, and the Cottage s where the campers lived their lives from Monday to Friday. Due to government cutbacks, the camp program eventually became more expensive until it was finally declared to be defunct. Children who attend this program are under 18 years of age and the maximum stay is 6 weeks (in order to correct their behavior in a more restrictive environment). Despite popular opinion from parents, there are no permanent stays in any residential unit of CPRI, including the Eden House where the delinquents are transferred to.
