The 8th congressional district of California covers most of the City and County of San Francisco except for a corner in the southwest — the Sunset District and St. Francis Wood — that is part of the 12th District .

The 8th district is one of the most reliably score of D +36.


HISTORY

Before the 1992 Redistricting , the area was roughly equivalent to the 5th District .


REPRESENTATION

Democrat Nancy Pelosi , the House Minority Leader from 2002 to 2007, and the current Speaker Of The House Of Representatives , has represented the district since 1987.
