Bus Models Used In New York City Transit And Mta Bus




MTA NYC Transit (and more recently, MTA Bus Company) have ordered buses from General Motors Corporation (GMC) , Transportation Manufacturing Corporation (TMC) , Orion , New Flyer , NovaBus , and Motor Coach Industries (MCI) . The MTA has also tested buses from other manufacturers throughout the years.

A summary of buses follows below, listing buses used by NYC Transit since 1980, and equipment inherited and purchased new by MTA Bus . Not included in this list is the paratransit fleet. For buses ordered before 1980, see Here .

The entire fleet at both NYCTA and MTA Bus is fully ADA compliant, and consists of 102-inch wide buses.


RETIRED BUSES

All production buses purchased new by NYC Transit since 1981 are accessible and are also fully compliant with the Americans With Disabilities Act .
