Belmont Airport is an airfield located in the Lake Macquarie suburb of Pelican, 15 km south of Newcastle, New South Wales . It had one runway of 3000 ft (914 metres), and was served by regional airline Aeropelican . The airfield has virtually ceased operations, since the withdrawal of scheduled Aeropelican services from the airport in 2006. Belmont Airport has been taken over by the owners of Warnervale Airport . The tar runway will be ripped up and a concrete runway laid. They are looking at a commuter service to Sydney in early 2008. |
