Situated on the former estate of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bailey, the arboretum is home to more than 600 varieties of trees and shrubs from around the world, including such rare specimens as dwarf Nikko Fir s from Japan , blue Atlas Cedar s from North Africa , Korean Pine s and several Chinese Dawn Redwood s - a species classified by the World Conservation Union as "critically endangered" in the wild. In addition to its collection of rare trees, the arboretum contains an extensive variety of Chrysanthemum s, yellow Magnolia s, Rhododendron s, and Azalea s, as well as five perennial beds with over 100 labeled varieties.
