Bianca, one of the most beautiful and dangerous
Vampire s in Chicago, has history with Harry Dresden — she was the one who protected him five years ago when the High Council came after him for the death of Justin Morningway. Now, Bianca hires Harry after a failed attempt to kill her, and Harry tracks the attack back to a retired High Council vampire hunter. When the operative is attacked as well, Harry discovers links to the psychotropic vampire-drug Third Eye, and realizes that someone close to Bianca is making a powerplay.
