Information About

Baby Beach, Aruba

Baby Beach is a shallow, sheltered man made Lagoon on the southeast end of the island of Aruba frequented by locals and tourists alike. The snorkeling at this location is great for kids or travelers new to snorkeling. However, for more experienced snorkelers, it is recommended to try at Eagle Beach or Palm Beach . It is located near the Aruba Oil Refinery.

What makes this an ideal place for snorkeling is the lack of waves and, for those of us who aren't the strongest of swimmers capable of battling ocean waves for very long, is that a place to stand to rest or clean out your mask/snorkel tube is never more than a dozen or so strokes away. The water in the deeper areas, as well as around the rest of Aruba, is cool and refreshing even in August.

The water level is generally waist high on the inside, but towards the inlet, it gets much deeper. Marine life includes Barracuda, squid, parrot fish, blowfish, angel fish, eels, snakes and a lot of other small fish, although most of these stick around the inlet.

The water is usually warm, and very shallow, but fun for all ages. No large waves are present, and the water is about 2 feet deep at entry.

At the beach there is a small snack stand, and lawn chairs and umbrellas for rent. This beach is a fun place to rent a Jeep Wrangler and head out to for the afternoon.
