Piper 's baby is nearly kidnapped by
Demons ,
Paige goes undercover to track down the kidnappers at a demonic black market, but is captured before she can vanquish them. The demons use Paige as a decoy to distract Piper and
Phoebe away from the manor to launch an attack on
Leo and the baby. Meanwhile, Phoebe is smitten with her new boss, Jason Dean, but is under fire when he questions her integrity. At the end Piper and Leo decide to name their baby

- : Demonic bounty hunters, who sell magical goods at the Demonic Market.
- : Parasites who suck other magical beings' powers away from them. They absorbed Paige's power, when she was looking for the demons who tried to kill Wyatt. The parasites placed a bounty for any demon to capture Wyatt. Piper and Phoebe went looking for Paige and destroyed any demon that got in her way. After this a prophetic demon called Crone passed a law that forbid any demon to go after Wyatt because the evil community would suffer more than it would gain.
- The Crone : The Crone is a well known and respected advisor of evil, responsible for some of the established demonic laws. The Crone can foresee the future, which makes her valuable. She is an upper-level demon and possesses upper-level demonic powers. She shops at the Demonic Black Market.
- : Upper level demons with overwhelming physical strength. They work alone, generally crushing skulls of their victims. Certain potions have proven effective in vanquishing them but care is recommended as Brutes are often fond of camouflage when attacking.
- The episode title is a reference to the various phrases ''baby's first tooth'', ''baby's first steps'', ''baby's first word'', etc. In 1961 singer Connie Francis also released the song ''Baby's First Christmas''.
- Piper names her first child in this episode. First name: Wyatt, after his father. Middle name: Matthew, after his aunt Paige. Last name: Halliwell, to keep the family tradition.
- This is the first episode to show actor Eric Dane as Jason Dean and actress Grace Zabriskie as the Crone.
- This is the second time we see the Halliwell Family Tree . The first time it is shown is in the episode '' Pardon My Past ''.
- Wyatt is shown as being able to generate forcefields to protect himself from demons, which is what made Piper invincible during her pregnancy, along with his power to heal. He also shows the power to activate the Demon Alarm made by Paige. This is most likely due to using his Thought Projection power or Telekinesis.
- The family tree says that Grams died before her husband Jack did. It could be that Jack was her fourth husband as it has been said in many conversations that she was engaged six times and married four times. Her first husband, Allen Halliwell, the sister's real grandfather, was first shown in the episode '' Witchstock '', where Grams sees Allen die and goes into a fit of rage because of it. Grams doesn't die until about six months before the pilot took place in 1998 .
- Victor (father of Prue, Piper, and Phoebe) is mistakenly listed on the family tree as "''Victor Jones''" instead of "Victor Bennett".
- Paige over charged the crystal that used to make Demon Cage until they killed two demons instead of just holding them.
- When they were naming Wyatt, they considered the names Peter and Potter (with a casual reference to Harry Potter ).
- When Piper was pregnant, they were planning on naming the baby Prudence Melinda, but they had to drop that name because the baby turned out to be a boy.
- Piper states that she had a little girl when She Visited The Future .
