Information About

Autism Jersey

Autism Jersey was established in June 2005 by a group of parents, all of whom have children with autism, led by Philip Le Claire, the parent of a Teenage son with Asperger's Syndrome . Philip is now the Executive Director of Autism Jersey, as well as the Branch Officer of the Jersey branch of the National Autistic Society .

Their offices are at " The Bridge " (previously St Marks Primary School), an integrated families centre on St Saviour's Hill near the Hotel de France.

Autism Jersey is still a young charity, and although firmly established, is only beginning to make the needed changes to the local Education , Social Security , Healthcare , Law Enforcement agencies, and other establishments in order to ease the difficulties faced by people with an Autistic Spectrum Disorder . However, a number of schemes have already been established, and the charity is working with many other departments and organisations to drive progress towards supporting people with an Autistic Spectrum Disorder .
