This document has many similarities to the UN Charter (although the title bears a resemblance to the Articles Of Confederation that preceded the US Constitution). The Articles have never been mentioned in any Star Trek series but is found in the Star Trek Technical Manual by Franz Joseph. In 2005, a novel called 'Articles of the Federation' was released, written by Keith R.A. DeCandido and giving readers a first-ever detailed look inside Federation politics.
