Anime Punch! is an is an organization that began as an offshoot of Animate!, The Ohio State University 's Anime club. After a small initial event held in the Ohio Union on the OSU campus in early 2005, initial plans were made to hold a larger, apocalypse-themed Armageddicon. Anime Punch! claims to focus almost exclusively on anime, eschewing the recent trend of conventions to attempt to cover anything and everything remotely related to Japan .

ARMAGEDDICON

The main event of Anime Punch!, Armageddicon claims to focus exclusively on anime, eschewing the recent trend of conventions to attempt to cover anything and everything remotely related to Japan . Notably, Armageddicon also features a high density of educational, cultural and scholarly panels and workshops. The first Armageddicon happened on the weekend of March 31 - April 2 at the Holiday Inn in Worthington, just outside of Columbus , Ohio . For 2005, guests included Steve Conte , The Spoony Bards (a fan-band), Joshua Seth , Crispin Freeman , Lawrence Eng, Lillian Olsen and several professors and graduate students from OSU that came to give talks. The next Armageddicon is scheduled for March 30 - April 1 .

FIELDCON

Fieldcon took place from July 28 through July 30 2006 . It is assumed to be the first Anime Convention held entirely outdoors. Although the attendance was small, the event was successful and will become a recurring event.
