Alaska's At-large congressional district comprises the entire state of Alaska . This Congressional District has the largest area and lowest population density of any district in the United States . It has been represented by Republican Don Young since 1973.


ELECTION RESULTS

This district is considered safely Republican , because no Democrat has been elected since 1972 , and because Incumbent Don Young hasn't faced a serious challenge since 1990 , when Valdez Mayor John Devens nearly defeated him. George W. Bush received 61% of the vote in this district in 2004. The district has a Cook Partisan Voting Index score of R +14.
