These actions include but are not limited to:

  • Performance of any one or combination of overhaul, repair, inspection, replacement, modification or defect rectification of an aircraft or component in accordance with the aircraft maintenance program and/or the manufacturers' prepared maintenance data

  • Conducting required periodic inspections based on calendar time, or time in service (for example annually, or every 100 operating hours), or flight/landing cycles.

  • Disinfection using special sprays to repel Insect s from the aircraft. It was widespread from the 1930s until the 1970s when it was reduced due to the ill effects of the pesticides. However they are used in where countries have an outbreak of vector borne disease The insecticides used a special sprays when the passengers are on board to certain destinations like Trinidad and Tobago. Countries like Australia use residual method before passengers board.
