Zumiez (, Snowboarding , Motocross , etc. Zumiez is based out of Everett, Washington .
The current president and CEO is Rick Brooks http://seattle.bizjournals.com/seattle/stories/2006/06/26/daily4.html.

STORES

As of the beginning of 2006 , Zumiez operated 174 stores and had a presence in 19 states. Zumiez stores
are often found near and feed off of other specialty retail stores such as Abercrombie And Fitch , American Eagle , Hot Topic , etc. However, Zumiez markets itself towards individuals who do not like wearing what the usual crowd wears (Hollister, A.E., Abercrombie, etc.). Zumiez more closely resembles a skate-shop than a clothing store, which some praise for returning skate-shops to malls. Zumiez competes fiercely with these stores over the business of mall-going teenagers.

Brands

Zumiez currently offers:

IMAGE

Zumiez stores are designed with an "organized chaos" theme that "that is consistent with many teenagers' lifestyles." Zumiez stores are stocked with couches and video games to encourage customers "to shop for longer periods of time and to interact with each other and our store associates." Each store is approx. 2,700 sq. feet. The stores generally feature the sales floor, a couch with video games and television, changing rooms, and a 'skate shop.'
Zumiez also holds events entitled 'Zumiez Couch Tours' which has skateboarders, city to city, skate in malls. An example of a Zumiez Couch Tour can be seen on the show Viva La Bam created by Bam Margera (Element, Adio, Viva La Bam, Jackass) on Season Three, episode 7 entitled 'Mall of Bam'.

FINANCIAL

Zumiez reported $153.6 million in sales and a net income of $7.3 million for the 2004 fiscal year. Zumiez stock grew 38% (an additional $6.87 to the original asking price) to close at $24.87 per share. Currently Zumiez Mean Recommendation is 1.8, indicating a buy status (July 2006). Zumiez expects to grow 30% in the next 5 years (July 2006 ).

The company recently completed a purchase of the apparel company Fast Forward. The 19 Fast Forward stores, most of them located in Texas, will be eventually converted to Zumiez stores.
