Zen Cart is an Open Source Online Store management system. It is PHP -based, using a MySQL database and HTML components. Providing support for many Languages and Currencies , it is available for free under the GNU General Public License .

Zen Cart branched from OsCommerce as a separate project. It uses a template system to implement a design, unlike osCommerce which does not restrict how developers integrate a design into the code.

On the 12th of August 2007, Zen Cart team announced that the future versions of the software, starting with 1.4.0 will require PHP 5.2 as a minimum.
