HISTORY

Highway 19 previously ended in Milwaukee, but was truncated to end in Watertown in 1947. From Sun Prairie, Highway 19 followed Washington Ave and what is now US 18 through Madison before the commissioning of the US Highways.

CURRENT STATUS

Highway 19 is a 2-lane road for nearly all of its length. Part of it, roughly from Interstate 39 / 90 / 94 west to Highway 113 , had at one time been on the corridor of a planned beltine route around the north side of Madison. The current status of the parkway is uncertain. North Mendota Parkway Advisory Committee accessed 13 August 2006
