White Pine Village opened in 1976. It is a village of over two dozen preserved and refurbished local historic buildings Jessica Hulett, reporter for Capital News Service of Michigan State University School of Journalism , has story entitled: ''White Pine Village sets for state pilot program.'' of Mason County, Michigan . The buildings contain thousands of artifacts, much of which are from the Nineteenth Century.
