"Westley Side Story" is an episode of the Cartoon Network program Class Of 3000 that first premiered February 2 , 2007 . The episode's title is a parody of the popular musical West Side Story .


PLOT


Kim and Kam must put aside their sibling rivalry and help the class win a musical arts competition in Fulton County, Georgia , held at the Fox Theatre , against Sunny Bridges 's old school rival (played by Daran Norris ).


SONG

The song in this episode is and Kam Jam." Showing the Westley kids (portrayed by a light blue apple creature) in peace while the Eastley kids (portrayed by a fat red monster) are trying to ruin their happiness. And Sunny is (ironically) the sun, seen at the end of the song.

CULTURAL REFERENCES

  • This episode includes a reference to '' Survivor '' and " Tony Hawk's Underground 2 " (A game Phil Lamarr was in).

  • Sunny imitates both Gollum and Gandalf from J.R.R. Tolkien 's '' Lord Of The Rings '', by repeating that the blue ribbon is "his precious" and shouting "They shall not pass!" (He even had the staff.)

  • There is a reference to '' E.T. '' at the end of the episode, when the coyote flies across the moon.

  • When Philly Phil asks what a coyote would do with 100 dollars, Eddie says "Well, from my cartoon sense, he would spend it on a pair of ACME roller skates," a reference to Wile E. Coyote . He appears again later on ACME rocket propelled skates. He does the infamous "pause" and a subtitle is seen that reads "'Coyote' (Jokus Callbackus)".

  • The rival teacher's name is Salieri, a reference to the 17th century composer Antonio Salieri .
