The band's name comes from a type of acid that was popular in the early 60s,and it's initials are a reference to James' and Ten's previous band, "WIG". Their video for "What Are You Afraid Of" has received heavy airplay on MTV2 's underground show Subterranean. The band recently released "Remix EP," which features remixes of songs on their self-titled debut. They are currently working on their second full-length album, whose title is unknown. The second album will be released on October 23, 2007 on Milan Records. West Indian Girl's keyboardist, Nathan Van Hala, also plays piano in the Christian avant-garde/gothic/rock-opera band Saviour Machine .
