Warden is a Station on the Bloor-Danforth line of the Subway System in Toronto , Canada . It is located at 3276 St. Clair Avenue East, on the southeast corner of the intersection with Warden Avenue . It was opened in 1968 , and served as the Bloor-Danforth line's eastern terminus for 12 years, until the extension to Kennedy was completed in 1980 .

Nearby landmarks include the Providence Health Centre, Warden Woods Park, and Pine Hills Cemetery. It is near much vacant industrial land (including the former site of Centennial College and Warden Woods Mall/Power Centre) where major redevelopment is expected over the coming years, including numerous new housing developments on the former Power Centre property. {Link without Title}

HISTORY

Up until 1971, Warden was a fare zone. The mezzanine of the station had ticket booths between the bus bays and the subway platforms. Even today, you can see from the station layout, where the ticket booths were placed. In 1971 the City cancelled the fare zone system, and the booths were removed. Although one booth still remains in its original location as an information booth.
