Volkhov Front




The Volkov Front was formed in December 1941 under the command of General Kirill Meretskov , with General Stelmakh as Chief of Staff and Zaporozhets as commissar. Initially Sokolov's 26th (later 2nd Shock) and Galanin's 59th Armies were allocated to the formation.

The Front also included Meretskov's 4th Army and Klykov's 52nd Army.

The Front was disbanded and incorporated within Leningrad Front in late March 1942.
