Virgin Media Television (formerly known as '''Flextech''') is a British Television company owned entirely by the British cable company Virgin Media (previously known as ''NTL:Telewest'') and acts as its television programme production arm. Virgin Media Television owns a number of British channels, available on Digital Terrestrial ( Freeview ), Satellite ( Sky Digital ) and Cable platforms. Virgin Media Television also owns Minotaur International , which is responsible for international sales of most programmes commissioned by Virgin Media Television.1 Virgin Media Television started life as United Artists (Programming) Ltd, a division of Croydon-Based United Artists Cable. As part of the formation of Telewest, it was the subject of a management buy-out and was re-purchased by the (then much enlarged) Telewest Communications in 2000. On February 8 2007 Flextech was renamed Virgin Media Television as part of a rebranding exercise covering NTL:Telewest, Virgin Mobile and Virgin.net. Virgin Media TV will launch a new entertainment channel, Virgin 1 , in the autumn. Other channels The company operates ten television channels plus a number of time shifted channels, all available on Satellite and Cable television services, with Ftn also available on Freeview .
