Varteres Samourgachev (; born September 13 , 1979 in Rostov-on-Don is a Russia n wrestler who won a gold medal at the 2000 Olympics in Sydney , and a bronze medal at the 2004 Olympics in Athens . He is a Lawyer by profession. MEDALS WON Samourgachev won gold at the 2000 Olympics in the Greco-Roman Featherweight 63kg weight class. Samourgachev also won a bronze medal for Greco-Roman 74kg wrestling at the 2004 Olympics . He was in the final ranking, bronze final, semifinal bout 2, Elimination Pool E Ranking, and Elimination Pool E. Samourgachev has also been world champion twice (2002 and 2005).
