Louisville, Kentucky 's Union Station has served as offices for the Transit Authority Of River City since mid-April 1980, after receiving a year long restoration costing approximately $2 million. The station was formally opened on September 7 , 1891 , and until October 8 , 1979 , Amtrak 's '' Floridian '' served it. From December 4 , 2001 to July 4 , 2003 , a track on the west side of the parking lot served Amtrak 's '' Kentucky Cardinal ''. Union Station's first floor is open to the public from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. SEE ALSO
