Ulead Videostudio is a Video Editing Software from Ulead . Being one of the most powerful ones available to a mass commercial market, it allows amateurs to create and edit audio and video in a professional style. Although moderately expensive, it would appeal to someone using it for a small business or for home use. Similar in the way it breaks down the different sections to video editing to Windows Movie Maker , it has a simple learning curve. FEATURES The software features some great effects and transitions, as well as the ability to create DVDs and capture from Digital Video Camera . It also offers DV batch capture and scene detection, a feature usually found in only high-end video editors like Adobe Premiere Pro . The latest version, version 11, also supports HD DVD. However, the software can only export to Windows Media 8, it does not yet support Windows Media 9 or later format versions. Transitions Video transitions are placed into different categories including: FX: Includes transitions such as 'Burn' and 'Fade to black' 3D: Transitions such as 'Accordion' where the first video is folded in an Accordion style. Album: The transitions show the video in a Photo Album and turn the page to the next video or something similar. There are other video transitions, including the simple 'Fade' or 'Flip'. Video Filters Video filters include ' Chroma Key ' which is a Greenscreen /bluescreen recognition effect, 'Ripple', 'Negative', 'Sepia', 'Old Film' and other effects which are good for use in films or music videos. Flash Animation You can add a Flash Animation overlay to the video, and have a wide range of in-built animations including clapping hands, butterflies, a magic wand and a crown. Objects/Decorations/Titles You can add frames and Clip-art style objects to the video, as well as titles. The titles have many effects to make them move. Other Features You can slow the video down, speed it up, play it backwards and change the colours. Another handy feature that you would expect is to trim, crop and split the video tracks. You can have 8 tracks of overlay video, which can be played in various ways at the same time as the main video.
