As of 2005 the area is run down and consists of warehouses and similar businesses, some of which are set for demolition as part of the proposed M74 Extension . Some new flats have been built along the river bank and plans for a new footbridge costing £40M have been announced by the council. It will link Tradeston with Broomielaw and be designed by architect Sir Richard Rogers ( news report ). The singer Simon Bell was born in Tradeston in 1949. |
