Republic Of Ireland and has a presence on just about every UK High Street with over 175 stores across Britain. Following the success of Topshop, Topman was created in the UK towards the end of the
1970s to provide a new approach to menswear retailing. Since its creation, Topman also has built up a presence across the world with stores in over 40 cities across 20 countries, including presence in boutique stores in both
New York &
Japan , and an entire floor at the ‘world’s largest fashion store’, in
Oxford Circus ,
London .
Topman's main product offerings are inexpensive fashionable men's clothing, covering everything from men's formal suits to informal rock-influenced casual styling ranges, along with
Footwear and
Accessories . More recently, the store's casual wear has become heavily influenced by the popular and flamboyant
New Rave fashion movement.
It is closely associated with and popular with both teens and adults from the Indie/Nu-Rave/Rocker scene of London.
Over recent years, Topman has collaborated with young designers such as
Kim Jones , Markus Lupfer and Peter Jensen, as well as launching its own premium label ‘Topman Design’. After showing seasonally to the menswear press arena, Topman has now linked up with
Fashion East to produce MAN, a menswear event which takes place on schedule at London fashion week, showcasing new menswear design as well as the Topman Design collection.
Topman was nominated for ‘Menswear Design of the Year’ by the British Fashion Council, winner of ‘Best Fashion Retailer’ at the Maxim Style Awards for 2005 and winner of ‘Best High Street Retailer’ at the FHM Fashion & Grooming awards 2007.
