Train services on the line are extended to and from Ueno Station in Tokyo via Tōhoku Main Line . Calling the whole 101.6-kilometre Ueno-Takasaki section of "Takasaki Line" is acceptable. As the cities serviced includes important cities like Ageo , Okegawa , Kitamoto , Kōnosu , Kumagaya , Fukaya and Honjō in Saitama Prefecture , it is a vital line for the prefecture. The National Highway Route 17 and its historical predecessor Nakasendō run near this line. |
