Fronted by the Reverend Marcus, a distant relative of famous author and pundit, Mark Twain , Strawfoot is a seven-piece band consisting of violin, banjo, harmonica, upright bass, guitar, mandolin, percussion and the occasional accordion. Their high-energy shows regularly include burlesque dancers, and a tongue-in-cheek absolution of the crowd’s sins. A part of the bourgeoning Gothic Americana scene gaining popularity both stateside and abroad, Strawfoot has performed with Curtis Eller (NY,NY), The Meat Purveyors (Austin,TX), Reverend Glasseye (Boston MA), HUMANWINE (Boston, MA), Of Montreal (Athens, GA), Bobby Bare Jr (Nashville, TN), Jason Ringenberg (Nashville, TN) the Black Diamond Heavies (Nashville, TN), The Monads (St. Louis, MO) The Redwalls (Chicago, Il) Tim Barry (Richmond, VA) The Hackensaw Boys (Charlottelsville, VA) and William Elliott Whitmore (Lee County, IA) among others.
