ROLES


The roles of the State Executice are similar to those of the National Executive but specialised to the state with a closer relationship to local churches.


State President and Vice President


The roles of the State President and Vice President include:
  • Representing the Movement between conferences.

  • Chairing Executive Meetings and State Conferences.

  • Providing assistance to Churches requesting Executive advice or intervention

  • Facilitating any required disciplinary action involving Ministers.

  • Liaising with Regional Leadership Teams.



State Executive Members


The roles of the State Executive Members include:
  • Recommending, to the National Executive, those who are eligible for full ordination.

  • Working with New Churches in the planting of new Churches.

  • Planning of State Conferences, Leadership Summits and Seminars.

  • Reviewing any disciplinary matters involving Ministers and/or Churches.Management of finances of the State body.

  • Engaging the services of experts in matters relating to Government policy, legal and financial matters including the creation of "Child Safe" churches.




NEW SOUTH WALES


New South Wales is the state with the largest number of Assemblies of God members. The New South Wales AOG state division also includes the Australian Capital Territory. Currently the state has 328 churches. New South Wales has the largest church in the movement and the country, Hillsong Church with over 20,000 people attending.


VICTORIA


There are currently 256 churches in Victoria.


QUEENSLAND


Queensland was the state that first had the ''Assemblies of God'' name, before the Assemblies of God in Australia was incorporated. Queensland lead the path of megachurches, with Garden City Christian Church being Australia's first megachurch of over 2,000 people. Currently Queensland has 287 churches.


SOUTH AUSTRALIA


South Australia currently has 88 churches.


WESTERN AUSTRALIA


There are currently 79 churches in Western Australia.


TASMANIA


There are currently 26 churches in Tasmania.


NORTHERN TERRITORY


Northern Territiry currently has 18 churches.
