Stansted Airport railway station serves London Stansted Airport in Essex , England . It is situated at the end of a short branch from the West Anglia Main Line , which was constructed at a cost of £ 44 million and opened in 1991 , to coincide with the completion of the airport's new terminal building. SERVICES The principal service to Stansted Airport is the Stansted Express , a dedicated airport link service from London Liverpool Street operated by 'one' , which runs every 15 minutes. Other services operated by 'one' include local services to Liverpool Street, a service to Stratford in east London, and occasional trains northwards to Cambridge .
