SACS accredits educational institutions in the states of Virginia , Florida , Georgia , Kentucky , Louisiana , Mississippi , North Carolina , South Carolina , Alabama , Tennessee and Texas , as well as schools for American students in Mexico , the Caribbean , and Central and South America . COMMISSION ON COLLEGES SACS-COC accredits Universities and College s in Virginia, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama, Tennessee, Texas and Latin America (Extraterritorial). Every six months, the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges publishes an online report on its accreditation actions, including reaffirmations of accreditation and public sanctions of institutions of higher learning. {Link without Title} The reports include specific sanctions of schools and quality reports of schools failing to meet SACS standards. At the university level, the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges has accredited large public institutions, private colleges, military schools, and community colleges.
