However the Club's headquarters and training ground are located at Wellesley Park , Wellesley Street, South Hobart .

South Hobart Football Club is one of the oldest football clubs still running in Tasmania, as well as one of the most successful. They have won the State Championship a record 12 times. Add to this a remarkable 15 Southern titles, 11 KO Cups, and 6 Falkinder cups plus various other trophies, and they stand out as Tasmania's most successful club. They did not compete prior to World War I , however South Hobart were one of the teams to enter in the first season following the war. South Hobart won the league for the first time in their first season, 1919, and won the next five in a row. Although successful through their existence, they have failed to emulate this early glory. The 60's saw the influx of ethnic based clubs, and South Hobart has never returned to its former glory since that time.
