SMart is a Children's BBC television programme based on the subject of Art , which began in 1994. The programme is recorded at BBC Television Centre in London. The format is similar to the Tony Hart programmes '' Take Hart '' and '' Hart Beat ''.

  • Susan Ribeiro ''(2002)'' She has now moved on to work in a secondary school in Bushey. She teaches art to children aged 11+, and at GCSE and A Level.

  • Josie D'Arby ''(1996-1998)''

  • Zoë Ball ''(1994-1996)''


Mark Speight is the only presenter that has remained since the start of the programme in 1994.

The animated character Morph appeared on the programme from 1996 but was not included in the 2006 series.


THEME TUNE

The theme tune was composed by Kjartan Poskitt , famous for the Murderous Maths series of books.


FORMAT CHANGE

In 2007, the new autumn series has a new format mixing some of the old segments with new ideas. It is now aired on Sunday, the new format has cartoons.
