Sheikh Adi was reportedly born in the Beqaa Valley of the present-day Lebanon and spent much of his early life in Baghdad . To attain a Sufi life and to seclude himself he sought a quiet haven in Kurdistan , an area strongly influenced by Zoroastrianism .
