Shabeellaha Hoose




Lower Shabele ('') in southern Somalia . Until 1984, when the regions were reshaped, it was part of the larger Benadir region and its capital was Mogadishu , but is now Marka .

Shabeellaha Hoose is bordered by the Somali regions of Banaadir , Shabeellaha Dhexe , Hiiraan , Bay and Middle Juba and the Indian Ocean . After Mogadishu, this is thought to be the region with the most population in Somalia.

It is named after the Shebelle River , which passes through the region.


LANGUAGES

Linguistically, the region is one of the regions with the most diverse of the Somali Language s. The majority of the population speak with May-May dialect's Digil version of the Dhoobey area. Also spoken in the region are Af Jido, Af Garre, Af Tuni, Af Reer Marka and Af Reer Barawe as well as standard Maha Tiri Somali and the May-May of the Mirifle.
