Management tools such as information classification, risk assessment and risk analysis are used to identify threats, classify assets and to rate system vulnerabilities so that effective control can be implemented. There are two types of security management tools: 1) Managed security is the act of effectively managing your security systems is a resource intensive effort that requires specialized expertise. Because of these factors, security management can quickly burden your team, taking them away from more strategic activities. Therefore, third party vendors are used to investigate, manage, and monitor your internal security needs. 2) In-house security teams manage and monitor the internal threats and intrusions of their own networks.
